Have been Associated with Calvary for a number of years, your Ushers and people that (Police) inside the Church leave a lot to be desired, there attitude and means of communicating are neither uplifting or in line with Christian Beliefs of a Joyful Heart and a True Love for Our Lord!! Pastor Mark's Teachings are still good (some weeks better than others) but I really miss the Expositional Format rather than the Topical Form of Teaching!! Music speaks for itself (very weak and just going thru the motions).

Well like another user said we too had the issue of not allowing children in the front when we first attended. I did like Pastor Mark's message but Jesus wouldnt turn away children and that always stuck in the back of my head negatively.

The music is typically very uplifting.

So my final visit came in Feb 2021. We decided to go and had the mask that I never wear and I have severe immune complications. Mask in hand and prepared to suffer wearing it thru the sermon we go to sit and being a big giant i like and always sit on aisle. They spaced 4 or 3 seats apart. I sat and usher said you cannot sit there move in. Big church, only 4 aisles filled as in nobody was there for the service. I said i sit in aisle ill move back a row and he said NO. We leave, woman usher says sir you can sit against the wall, ok fine I sit. Male usher follows and says you cannot sit here. I laughed, pulled off my mask and said can you figure out what rules you want the sheep to follow and get on the same page. I will NEVER RETURN. God Bless.

I regret having to write my observation of CCM. I have been attending CCM since my move to W. Melbourn 16 months ago. I was enthrawled with Pastor Mark's teaching. He is a fabulous Bible teacher. However, my heart was crushed when he failed to stand firm for our President. Calvery Chapel Chino Hill CA Pastor Jack Hibbs should have been an example of Biblical teaching that taught other pastors what God's word taught regarding elections. However the Pastors here in Melbourn never wanted to come outright and pray for our President. Sad, yes very. I pray someday things will change. I was also shocked when I arrived a couple of Sunday's ago and was told I COULD NOT ENTER THE SANCUARTY WITHOUT A MASK AND WAS TOLD WHERE I COULD AND COULD NOT SIT. I do not want to discourgae anyone from attending CCM but I felt I should address this religious institituions as I personally see it. God bless this church, the people attending and may God continue to bless Pastor Mark.

Would not recommend. Perhaps the preaching is good, but trying to get to hear it is another story. First of all, I tried to bring my daughter, who is shy, into the church with me on my first visit a few months ago. She didn't want to go back to the children's service on her first time... and I wanted to hear the doctrine before I let her go back there anyhow. Well, you can't do that here. What Jesus said, Suffer the little children to come unto me... nope. NOT APPLICABLE. You won't be able to do that, you get to go into the area with kids and group them all together rather than the church being an actual family... where the WHOLE families are welcome to sit where they can see/where they choose, nope you'll go in the kiddie corral. (Which, by the way, is more distracting). And FYI, kids are the next generation of the church and where your cash flow... er I mean tithe flow... comes from...

Then the parking lot guys are Nazis. Went today. To try again and see if they've changed their stance on children being welcome. And my husband accidentally went in the wrong way. Got lectured 3 times for it. I decided to leave because obviously the church hasn't changed at all nor do they want to extend grace to those who "break the rules" on accident. So while I'm leaving, the guy makes a big show of moving the sign in front of the lane in the road (the road is the exit, so I'm leaving as I was supposed to). I wasn't even the one who made the mistake.

Don't go here. There are lots of churches in Melbourne to try.

What's that saying? When someone shows you who they really are, believe them? Yeah. I believe them now. Won't be back.

The choir needs to feel the spirit a litttle more sing like your really feeling Gods presence! Its a great church but the choir is lacking in the uplifting of the congregation!

  • This pastor tells what the book says. He breaks every aspect down and explains even the abstract parables. The church is welcoming and well organized. The worship team is awesome 5 stars all the way.

  • Visited for the first time today. It was so easy. There were people showing us the best place to park, people showing us how to get to the service, and everyone was so friendly. Definitely worth checking out!

  • One of my favorite criticisms of the church is, "it's too big!" With an attitude like that, you'll hate it in heaven! Jesting aside, no gathering of forgiven imperfect people (definition of church) is perfect. That said, P Mark Balmer and the associate pastors never fail to bring The Word to the people with practical application. Teaching and leadership is strong, so there's plenty of opportunity to practice loving others the way Jesus commands. You'll also find that the large group gathering is only the start. Dozens of "small groups" make up the backbone of daily living and following Christ. You can't do large group without small. Remember, you reap what you sow. Commit to sow much!
